Individually printed and signed by the artist. Fiona has done a wide range of Australian birds over her years as a specialist bird artist, including wrens and small bushbirds, parrots and other larger species. The birds are portrayed in a traditional style with simple backgrounds, keeping the focus on the bird. All birds are based on Fiona's own fieldwork, with nearly 50 years experience birdwatching in the Australian bush.

I've finally settled on a new 6-colour home studio printer for my budget A4 bird print range. I'm now updating my full range of 70+ bird choices.

My new Epson Expression Photo XP-970 uses Claria HD dye-based inks. I've always been happy with Epson 6 colour printers. Cyan, magenta, light cyan, light magenta, yellow and black afford me accurate colour matching for my bird art pieces - which can be difficult to accurately scan/print with their contrasting, primarily white, paper backgrounds and wide range of subtle to bright bird and plant colours.

Combining genuine Epson dye inks and Epson archival heavyweight matte paper promises good smudge, scuff, water and fade resistance, according to the manufacturer. Best longevity will be achieved if the prints are stored/displayed correctly: i.e. not subject to strong or direct UV/sunlight.

Prints are unmatted (no framing) but are backed with stiff A4 matboard in sealed poly-bag envelopes for protection when handling/posting.

Please be careful to fold back the sticky flap of the polybag, away from the print paper, when removing the print for framing up.

The custom prints have a small white border around the subject (variable in width) and so the image area is slightly smaller than A4 when framing up. They are suitable for posting in padded envelopes and are lightweight for overseas gifts.
